In February 2019, I started my own publishing company, Magpie Tree Press, so that I could publish and develop my own books for Australian and international markets and, eventually, for the screen. I love storytelling and how it can transport readers to another time and place, and love incorporating the natural environment into all my stories.

But most of all, I love meeting readers during my author talks and book signings where I get the chance to travel around the country, visiting libraries far and wide to I talk about the writing process, what I've learned since starting my own imprint, and sharing tips and tricks for aspiring authors in the audience. It really is true that there is a book in all of us.

It's hard to believe that it has only been four years since then but I now have four titles in print - and another on the way. The best thing of all is meeting readers in person and hearing what they love about books, not just mine but the great variety of Australian talent out there, and I also hear a lot of people say, 'I get lost in reading; books take me to another place.'

Happy reading!
